Bride Box + Giveaway!

More from my growing addiction I bring you the Bride Box.

This is the premier month for Bride Box and they send you cute, handmade items to make your wedding just a smidge better.  A Bride Box subscription will run you $35 a month but I got 50% off because I asked them if I could blog them and they said yes! Thank you Bride Box ladies.

This post is picture heavy to show more detail than my unboxing video here. So without further ado I give you the items of May's Bride Box.

First off we have the info card and a handy wedding countdown planner.  I really like the info card because it was cute and big and made out of parchment, not like most info cards, so classy.  And with the wedding countdown I recommend laminating it so if you need to change something you can just erase the old info and it will still look neat and pretty.

Next we have a custom made Whimsical Burlap Banner.  Mine says KISS but you can get yours to say what you want.  You can get one at Bride Box.

Next was a little extra thing.  It is a cream cleanser from Guinot.

The next thing I received is Rhinestone shoe stickers that say I Do.  This is such a cute idea, especially if you are having trouble thinking of what to do for your Something Blue.  Just put these on the bottom of your shoes.  You can also get these at Bride Box and if you use code: METOOMAY at checkout you will receive 20% off a second pair or the Me Too sticker set for your groom.

This is my favorite item out of the box and it is a Noell Desiree delicately designed, sterling silver wire necklace that features a Swarovski crystal. Custom necklaces are available and you can get them here or at Noell Desiree's site here.

And the last thing is something super cute.  It's lip and mustache shaped chocolates from Teresa Marie Designs.  Use them to take fun and silly pictures at your wedding then gobble them up.  Weddings are stressful, you will need a treat.

The last thing that came in the box I don't have a picture of, because it's an app for your wedding. It's called Wedding Party App and it is a simple and fun way to capture and share your wedding with your guests.  You can get it for your iphone or android and it's free.

Remember that I Do sticker set from a little bit ago?  Well if you want one for yourself and don't want to buy one (they are only $8) then go watch my unboxing video here and subscribe and leave a comment. I will pick a random person to win one!

I just looked up the cost of the box and home made artsy things are ex-pen-sive!  The necklace is $45 the banner is $35, the stickers are $8 and the chocolates are $7,bringing the total of the items to $95.  I bought this half off the regular price but even at $35 a month that is a wicked good deal.  If you use the code: JUNEBRIDE you can receive $5 off a monthly subscription, $10 off a 6 month or $20 off a yearly subscription. You can use the code here:  www.thebridebox.net/June-bride.

I don't know if I'll keep up with my Bride Box Subscription but for right now, I am loving it!

Wantable Box!

I am so addicted to subscription boxes, like I seriously need rehab or the equivalent thereof.  One box I've had my eye on but have been a bit hesitant to purchase is the makeup box from Wantable.

The reason I have been wanting it is because it's not samples, they send you full size products and you fill out a profile you can customize to what you like.  If you don't want brow products or mascara slide the scale to dislike and they won't send you any. You are ok with matte eyeshadow or glitter nail polish, leave the slider on like. But if you are a fiend for lip gloss or beauty tools slide that sucker up to love.  It's entirely up to you.

The reason I have been hesitant is because of the price. It's 40 dollars for a one time box, but 36 dollars a month if you subscribe.

Now I have worked many jobs where part of it was asking for donations so there is no shame in my game anymore, so what did I do when faced with a dilemma of wanting Wantable and not so sure about affording it?  I asked them for one!  The people at Wantable were so awesome. They sent me a box to review.  I loved everything in the box.  All the makeup goodies even came is a gorgeous velvet bag.

So here are pictures and descriptions of everything I got:
This is the actual box, the velvet bag and a set of Frownies Eye Gels.  They are anti-oxidant moisturizing gel patches to improve the appearance of discolored skin and fine lines.  They are also reusable in combination with Frownies Rose Water Hydrator Spray.  I cannot wait to use these!

The next item is a cool plumping lip gloss in Just Lust by beauty for real.  I love the color but what is amazing about this lip gloss is that there's a mirror on the side and the applicator lid lights up! Holy cow, coolest lip gloss ever!  Bonus awesomeness is that they don't test on animals and is paraben free. It's also infused with marine collagen, grape seed and green tea extracts, aloe vera and avocado oils.

The next two products are both from Mia BelleZZa, which I could not pronounce right in my unboxing video to save my life. The first one is an automatic long lasting eyeliner in Onyx and the other is an eyeshadow duo in Vino.  I love these colors, purples really make my amber eyes pop! And I just ran out of my other eyeliner so that was good timing to get this one.

The next thing is a nail polish by Color Club in First Looks.  This is a sort of dark teal but it has a really cool and pretty purple sheen.  I'll be trying this in my next mani but I am digging my black nails with star shaped rhinestone accent nails right now.

The last thing I received in my box of amazingness was an eyeshadow compact from Peepers by Darla in the color Betty Jane.  You can't really tell from my picture but the eyeshadow is a really pretty light shimmery green, which I love because it's really in for Spring right now.

So I loved everything about this and I think I might be subscribing if I can work things out.  Also I forgot to mention, not only does Wantable do these amazing personalized makeup boxes, they also do jewelry boxes!  Prices for the jewelry box are the same as for the makeup box.

If you are looking for an amazing box where you get to pick what kind of full size products you get, then definitely get Wantable.

My prizes!

Last month I won the mystery mashup contest from the Small Towns & City Lights blog.  While it took a while for the prizes to be sent out I absolutely love them!

Small Towns & City Lights does a lot of subscription box reviews so the mystery mashup contest was one thing from 5 different subscription boxes:
-My Cotton Bunny BFF Bundle Box
-A+ Fancy Box
-Dottiebox
-PopSugar Must Have
-(Original) Fancy Box

From the Cotton Bunny Box, I got a box of U by Kotex designer tampons.-$5
From the A+ Fancy Box (curated by Ashton Kutcher) I got  a Pilot & Captain Tokyo t-shirt.-$32
From the Dottiebox I got a coffee cup cozy from Baby off the Hook.$6
From the PopSugar box I got The New Black nail polish set in Pardon My French-$10
Finally from the original Fancy Box I got a Clocky Rolling Runaway Alarm Clock.-$45

Holy cow this prize box is worth almost $100!  That's amazing, and I'm so glad I won.  I'll probably be handing out all the stuff to friends and family because I love them and want to share.

The best part of the box I was sent wasn't even the prizes.  The girls from Small Towns & City Lights took the time to write me a handwritten note card.  That was so sweet.

                                                         Thank you Rachel and Kayla!

Review:AVEENO® POSITIVELY RADIANT® Intensive Night Cream

Now that I've been using the intensive night cream for a while, I thought I would give you my updated thoughts on the product. I still love it!

For those of you who didn't read my first impressions blog post, this cream contains a proven concentrate of Active Naturals Total Soy Complex boosted with vitamin B3 to help  diminish the appearance of dullness, blotchiness and brown spots. It's oil free hydrating formula works while you sleep to reveal a more even, more radiant complexion. It's even gentle enough for every day use, which is really good because I have sensitive skin.

This cream feels thick and luxurious when you put it on and it smells heavenly. My face still tingles when I put it on but it's not painful just odd. My skin is so soft and I can see it improving a little each day.  I would show you pictures but there was an unfortunate accident with scratching a bug bite and it's not pretty, people.

I would definitely still recommend this if you are looking for a cream to help with tone, dullness, brown spots, texture, or blotchiness. If you want to get your own jar it goes for $14.99-$16.99 at stores like Walmart or Target or at drugstore.com

Also check out http://www.aveeno.com/ to see the rest of their amazing products.

In closing, my radiant dream for 2013 is that we have safety and peace.

First Impressions Review: AVEENO Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes. My opinions are honest and my own.

I was so jazzed when I got picked to test The AVEENO Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream because I love face creams and AVEENO is an awesome brand.

From the box it says...Brighten tired and dull-looking skin with Positively Radiant.  Positively Radiant is a collection of facial skincare products uniquely formulated to target all 5 Factors of Radiance to leave your skin looking fresh, awake, and luminous.  Intensive Night Cream improves: tone, dullness, brown spots, texture and blotchiness.

I received this on 4/12/13, so I got it yesterday.  When I saw the little Influenster box in my mailbox I did a little happy dance...that I immediately regretted because I hurt my back.  First thing I did was instagram the box because I wanted everyone to see it right away. The packaging looks very nice, I think it looks quite elegant.

The second thing I did was open the jar and sniff because I am sensitive to smells because of my asthma.  Holy cow does it smell amazing.  It's not to strong or too light, just the perfect amount of fragrance for a face cream. It smells so clean and fresh.

I was so antsy all day yesterday in anticipation of getting to use the product that at 11 on the dot I took a before picture then rushed into the bathroom for my nightly routine.

A tip I would recommend is using a gentle exfoliating scrub before using the night cream to get rid of dead skin so the AVEENO can soak in properly.  Always use your night cream on a clean face.

After I used my warming exfoliating scrub I slathered the AVEENO on my face and neck, and I mean slathered like butter on a turkey.  After a moment it started to burn/tingle a little.  It didn't hurt but it wasn't entirely pleasant either.  I figured I exfoliated a little too hard so I wiped the product off and occupied myself for a little bit before trying again.

I wiped my face again to make sure it was clean and then applied the night cream.  Once again it burned/tingled a bit so I just figured it was because of the ingredients working but since my skin is so sensitive the feeling was a little more intense than a normal person might feel.

When I woke up this morning I was going to take a picture right away before my shower but I had those lines you get from sleeping on your hands so I had to wait a bit.  But as soon as those lines faded I could tell my skin already looked better! A little tingle is definitely worth these results, especially if after one day it already looks that good.
Already you can tell that my tone is more even, and my skin is brighter.

So my first impression about AVEENO Positively Radiant Intensive Night Cream is that I am in love with it and definitely can't wait to see how it improves my skin with continued use. I highly recommend this if you need to improve tone, dullness, brown spots, texture, or blotchiness in your face.

I hope I didn't ramble too much. Keep watch on my Youtube channel here to see a video of me using my AVEENO.

Have a good day everybody!

Review: Palmolive Fresh Infusions

I want to start out by saying I got to try this product complimentary through Influenster but the opinion are my own and honest opinions.

First off I have to say I love getting free things and getting to review them.  And honestly I have to say that not everything that gets sent to me is great.  I do have to say that these bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions are great though.

Three bottles were sent to me : Ginger White Tea,Lemon Thyme and Lime Basil. I have to say that while all three smell just heavenly, the Lime Basil scent is my favorite.  It smells delicious and it lingers for a bit even after you are done with the dishes.

Speaking of dishes, I have a dishwasher, but since I received these from Influenster I've found that I keep washing dishes by hand without even thinking about it.  It smells so good and it cleans the dishes so well that I don't even need to use the dishwasher.

Now Influenster told us not to be greedy and that we should share a bottle. I picked my mom to give a bottle to.  I let her pick which scent she wanted and she chose Lemon Thyme. She loves it.  She says it smells great and works really well.  Also she says thank you Influenster.

You can get your own bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions at your local Walmart.  If you want to know more, you can go to the Palmolive website at http://bit.ly/VMwX1V and if you want to read more great reviews by other Influensters you can at http://bit.ly/101WrXn.

New Year's Eve ready nails using Neutrogena Hand Cream.

Let me start out by saying I got to try Neutrogena hand cream because I got it free from BzzAgent.  My opinions are solely my own honest opinions.

This isn't really a review of Neutrogena hand cream it's just an awesome product that is helping my hands look and feel their best in the harsh weather of winter. What this really is, is a simple how to guide on getting great looking nails that will be a perfect accent to your New Year's Eve party outfit using...aha!...an accent nail.

Step One-
Gather your tools. No one likes having to hunt something down and potentially ruining all the hard work you've put into your manicure so far.
You need two complimentary nail polishes or a polish and a glitter top coat.  I used Sally Hansen Xtreme wear in Celeb City and Stroke of Brilliance by Essie.
You also need a cuticle stick, an emory board, a top coat and of course your hand cream of choice, which in this case is Neutrogena.  You may also need paper towels or tissues and nail polish remover if you don't have the most steady hand when painting your nails, which I do not so I make great use of my cleaning up tools.

Step Two
Assuming your hands are clean and free of your last manicure you'll want to gently push back your cuticles using the slanted side of your cuticle stick.  I don't want anyone stabbing themselves then saying...Melissa told me to...no I didn't.  Then after you've moved the cuticles away so you have an even nail, you'll want to file the ends of your nails so they are smooth and will look nicer.

Step Three
Yay painting!  Take your primary polish, the polish you want on all of your nails, and paint a thin even coat over your nails, let it dry and repeat.
Since I'm using a glitter accent this is the step I used. If you are using two complimentary polishes then paint every nail except your ring fingers with your primary polish. Paint your ring fingers with the second polish. Then skip to step five.

Step Four
Take your glitter polish and paint over the polish on your ring fingers. Keep doing this until you have reached the level of glitteryness that you want to achieve.

Step Five
After your nails are completely dry then paint over them using your favorite top coat. This ensures that your manicure will last longer and it smoothes edges if your glitter polish happens to be multi-dimentional.

Step Six
After your nails are dry again, you can read or watch trashy tv while waiting for this to happen, clean up any slips you might have made with the brush. I use a paper towel corner and nail polish remover but you can find special clean up pen things at your local Walmart...I think.  Please don't leave nasty comments if you can't find them, cause that would hurt my feelings and would damage your karma and neither one of us wants that to happen do we?  No, didn't think so.

Step Seven-The Last Step
The last step in getting awesome nails for New Year's is the moisturizing.  Take your favorite hand cream and place a teeny tiny dot in the middle of your cuticles. Then massage the cream into your cuticles so they are soft and look nice.

I hope this was helpful and that I didn't sound like a blathering idiot.  Happy New Year's everyone!
