September Nail Art Society!

Once again Nail Art Society has proved their awesomeness by sending me the September kit. It was a total surprise.  They went out late but they are so good I don't think anyone will mind. Also they didn't use the bubble mailers,it was a small box and everything came in a velvet bag.  So swank! Even though I got this for free, all my opinions about the contents are my own.

First things out of the box were the cards. First card (which I didn't shoot) was a little announcement that Nail Art Society has opened it's own store and the card featured some of the colors from Jessica.

The other card (pictured above) was the Nail Inspiration Guide and shows different ways to use some of the items in the kit. It also talks about this month's featured guru, Stacie Clemons. Stacie is a member of the Facebook group World of NailCraft which has hundreds of members from all nail art skill levels.  I will have to check that out, I bet the designs they show off are amazing.

Here's a shot of all the products in September's kit.

The first item in the kit is a full sized bottle of Jessica nail polish in Cinnamon Kiss.  It's a really pretty deep red/rusty color and it's perfect for fall.  I used two coats and  it came out perfectly opaque with no streaks.  I might have to check out the other Jessica colors available in the Nail Art Society store.

The next two items are Cala Nail Decoration 3-D Nail Art Decals.  The royal one is very pretty but I think the first one is my favorite because of the skulls and bats. Halloween is coming up you know,

The next two things out of the bag are from adoro. They are golden colored rhinestones, which are fairly big and some huge diamondesque tear drops. I used the rhinestones for the nail I did to show off some of the kit but I'll save the tear drops for something really special because they are gorgeous.

The last two items are gold and silver foil/flake. I have no idea who made them though.  They are so pretty but the gold I used was a little hard to work with.  The nail inspiration guide gives a few tips on how to work with it but I totally didn't see that till after I was done taking pictures.  I should pay more attention to things.

The last picture is just some nail art I did really quickly using four of the things from the kit.  I used the Jessica nail polish, one of the crowns from the Cala nail decorations, the adoro rhinestones and the gold foil.  I have to apologize for the quality of the last picture but it's hard to take pictures when your hands shake.

September's kit was amazing and I love everything in it.  If you would like to get your own kit starting in October then go to Nail Art Society and use the code OCT10 to get 10% off your first kit.  Check out the new store while you are there.

If you want to check out World of NailCraft you can find them on Facebook or Twitter.

If you are a NAS subscriber and would like a chance to have your September kit nail art featured by Nail Art Society then tag your pictures with @nailartsociety and #goldflake or #silverflake.

Nail Art Society!

Nail Art Society has finally relaunched their site and sent out the kits for August, yay!  What Nail Art Society is is a monthly subscription service where they send different tools for making nail art.  They might send polishes, or striping tape or dotting tools... etc.  It costs $9.95 a month plus $4.95 for shipping.  I love doing nail art, I can hardly go 2 or 3 days without getting an idea and changing my current manicure so a monthly subscription service where they send me a bunch of stuff to make new nail art is awesome.

First of all I have to warn you that my camera was not cooperating with me at all and my hands were shaking bad during the picture taking so please forgive the quality.

The first things that were in the kit was a guide to the different Orly nail polishes and one of the different nail treatments that Orly offers, so those are super handy if you want to research before hand and spend less time in the store or online.

Next was the card with August's featured nail art guru, which was Katrina.  Her site is Katrina's Nail Blog

Then came the nail art guide card which gives you a step by step guide to doing the featured nail art.  August's nail art was a black and silver chevron design over a white base.

The first piece of nail art helper I pulled out of the mailer was the silver butterflies set from Cala Professional Nail Arts.  This is a really pretty set of water decals for your nails, kind of like temporary tattoos.  The sheet was butterflies, hearts and roses.

The next thing was also a sheet of nail water decals from Cala.  They were a sheet of really beautiful multicolored butterflies.

The next 4 things which has a lot more promise of versatility are Orly Instant Artist Water-Based Paints, which are striping paints.  I got white, black, cobalt blue, and silver.  I love striping paints because they make doing lines so much simpler than working with striping tape,at least for me.

The first striping tape was the white, and I used that on my nail paired with one of the silver butterfly designs, both the striping paints and the water decals were really easy to work with.  I just made a simple design with the striping paints of outlining my french tip design I already had done, then added the decals on top.
Next up was the black striping paint which I'm sure I'll get the most use out of.  I paired the black with one of the silver rose designs.

The was the colbolt blue which is a really intense pretty bright blue and I paired it with one of the blue butterflies.

Lastly is the silver striping paint which I see myself using the second most, after the black.  I used it with another of the butterflies.

I loved everything in this kit and look forward to seeing what Nail Art Society puts out in the coming months.  I recieved August's Nail Art Society kit free for review but my opinions are my own.  I want to thank NAS for sending it,it was great and I will get a ton of use out of the items.

Dr. Scholl's® For Her Ball of Foot Review

Today I am here to tell you about Dr. Scholl's For Her Ball of Foot cushions.  I got these in my Influenster Something Blue Voxbox.  Right off I'll tell you about some of the advertised benefits then I'll tell you about my experience with them.

Some of the benefits to wearing a Dr.Scholl's insert as opposed to not are: Cushioning clear massaging gel for instant comfort, can be pulled out of shoes and switched with no damage to your shoes, fits discreetly in both open toe and closed style shoes, they stay in place and the fit women's shoes size 6-10.

Now let me tell you how they worked for me...they worked awesomely.  I have terrible flat feet so usually wearing heels for any length of time gives me a great deal of pain, and not just in my feet either.

I was going to try these in a pair of flat shoes but I have this pair of heels I love that I hardly wear because of the pain, so I popped these on them.  They were really easy to put on and when I place one a little further up than I wanted, it was a snap to just pull it up and reposition it.  It didn't leave any residue on my shoes,or damage them in any way and it was just as sticky when I put it down again.

Now I wanted to test them in my home situation instead of out because what if they didn't work, I'd be stuck in uncomfortable shoes for hours and that would just suck.  So I just put on my heels and went about my business in my own home.  Amazing joy!  My feet didn't hurt when I was walking around, but a few minutes of comfort is easy to provide so I kept them on longer.

Hours later and I'm still wearing my heels.  My feet did end up hurting a little bit but that was to be expected.  My pain was nowhere near what it usually would be for being in heels that long and I was amazed.

One little tip I would like to give you is this, if your heels (or any shoe you choose really) are leather or pleather or any other smooth animal hide type material, take some alchohol and give the ball of foot area a little rub down, if it won't stain.  It will clean out the dirt and sweat and oils and make sure the adhesive will last longer.

I would recommend this product, or any of Dr. Scholl's inserts, to anyone who has a need to be on their feet and has pain.  It won't solve the problem but it will help immensely.

I received this product complimentary from Influenster but my opinions are honest and my own.

Bulu Box!

Bulu box is a monthly subscription service for nutritional and supplement samples and each month you get 4-5 samples.  There are two different boxes you can get, either the regular box which has samples geared toward general health or a weight loss box, which has samples to help you lose weight of course.

I got the weight loss box simply because I hadn't seen a ton of reviews for it and I've seen a bunch for the regular box. They also sent me a coupon code to share with you all. "Bulu3Month" is good for a 3 month subscription for $15 instead of $30.  And that's such a good deal I think I'll be taking advantage too. The also have a point reward system to purchase full sizes of the samples you get.

The first things in the box, as always, are info cards.  The bottom card is the info card for all the samples and the top card  has info about Jay Cardiello, the founder of the JCORE system and it also has a bunch of simple tips to help your workouts.

The next thing is a code to get $5 to try Gympact.  Gympact is where you can earn cash rewards for working out, and it's paid for by people donating to the site who want to motivate people to work out.  The code is "BuluPact".

Next is one of the items from Jay Cardiello's JCORE system.  It's a calorie, gluten and caffeine free drink mix, made with Teavigo green tea.  It is supposed to increase metabolism and fat breakdown, and is also supposed to support cardiovascular health and increase antioxident activity. All you do is add it to 16-20 oz. of water.   It's lemonade flavor and it costs $39.99 for 90 servings which comes out to about 45 cents a packet. I'll probably try this or the other drink mix purely for the flavor after I'm done writing up the post.

The next item is the other drink mix. It's fruit punch flavor and is meant to be taken before during or after a work out. It's supposed to increase nitric oxide production to reduce fatigue and improve muscle recovery.  It also has an energy blend of  natural caffeine, green tea extract, and green coffee extract.  You add this packet to 8 oz of water. A full size canister costs $35.99

The next thing are Neocell Beauty Bursts. They are supposed to promote smoother, more radiant skin, hair and nails with collagen 1 and 3.  Since this was a "food" item and it was fresh mint chocolate I decided to try one of the two little chews.  There was hardly any chocolate flavor but there was a of mint flavor.  It was so minty that it was almost bitter.  That's just me though I'm a bit sensitive to mint.  For a bag of 60 chews it costs $15.95

My favorite thing in this box was this Promax fit 'n crisp bar.  It's a protein snack to curb cravings for junk food.  It's like a rice crispies treat but better for you.  I had to try this because I love rice crispies treats and I wanted to see if this would taste gross.  It was delicious and I felt kinda full after half of the bar.  These will cost you $19.50 for 12 bars.

The last thing was Plantiva AllerDX which is supposed to boost your immune systems' tolerance to the environment around you.  It's basically just an all natural allergy medication that works within 10-20 minutes and is non-drowsy and stimulant free. Now I don't know about you but the allergy stuff I take does not work that fast and makes me sleepy so if I take this and it works I will definitely be switching to this. This costs $21.95 for 60 caps.

All in all this was a pretty good sample box filled with interesting samples that I look forward to trying.

You can get your own box at Bulu Box and don't forget to use code "Bulu3Month to get a 3 month subscription for only $30 or use code Leonard to get your first box free and $10 every month after that.

If you want to watch my unboxing it's here.

Bulu Box sent me this box free to review but my opinions are my own.

Nail Art Society!

So I asked Nail Art Society if they would send me a kit to unbox and review and they did! This month's theme was Kiss 'N' Tell, because they teamed up with Kiss.  I just got it, so I had to do the unboxing and take pictures and write up this post right away so I can start playing with all my awesome new stuff!  Thank you so much NAS for sending this to me!

The first thing in the kit are these cards.  One is a how-to guide to get the look, one is a theme and info card with some different looks you can do with the kit by Emily aka @lacquerologist and the other is about this month's nail art guru Lynette Cenee.

The next thing in the kit is Kiss Nail Artist 3D Charms.  Oh my goodness, are these adorable.  There's a little heart with cherries, and a cute bow, a beautiful blue butterfly and I think there's a donut. Plus there's a bunch of different shapes and sizes of rhinestones.  I got distracted looking at the package by planning out how I was going to use them.  Glue is included, and that is always appreciated.

The next thing in the kit was a Kiss Nail Artist Paint & Stencil Kit.  I came with orange, yellow and purple glitter nail paint plus 30 nail stencils.  I think this was the thing I was most excited to get.  I love the colors and I can't wait to use them.

The next things were two packages of Kiss Nail Dress nail polish stickers in Teddy and Corset.  They aren't really stickers I just say that because it's an easy way to describe them because you stick them on your nails.  The package comes with 28 strips and you can use them on your fingernails or toenails.  Frankly I cannot wait to get Corset (the neon dots) on my toes for a cute summery look.

Next up is Kiss Nail Artist Flat Stickers.  Now these are really stickers.  There are two different "kinds" in the package, There are flowers and then some swirly vine looking ones.  These are very cute and easy to use.  You paint your nails and let them dry, put the stickers down in the design you want, then put a top coat on.  I am a huge fan of an accent nail and now I have a ton of cute ways to do one.

The very last thing and possibly the most awesome, is the Kiss Marbelizing pen & polish.  Now I'm glad this is a polish as well because I love these colors.  The marbelizing looks really simple to do.  You paint your nails, put dots of color down then drag the pen tip through the dots.  Sounds easy enough, but just watch I'll be able to mess it up.

That's everything that came in this month's kit and holy cow is it worth a lot more than a $10 a month membership.  I definitely think I will be joining if every month is going to be this awesome.

If you would like to sign up for Nail Art Society then click here: Nail Art Society. But be aware that they are getting so many new customers that it's invitation only right now, which means you put in your email address and they will send you an invite to join when a spot opens up.

Pampered Pink Box!

Pampered Pink box is a new monthly subscription that is made to make you feel pretty when us ladies are feeling yucky during a certain time...if you know what I mean.

Tracy from Pampered Pink was nice enough to send me one of the boxes, they come in petite and luxe, and now I'm gonna share some pictures with you of the contents.  Albeit they are not excellent photos my camera was being a brat so I apologize for the quality.

The prices of each box are:
Petite- $12 a month,$33 for 3 months,$60 for 6 months, and $108 for a whole year.
Luxe- $30 a month, $84 for 3 months,$156 for 6 months and $288 for a whole year

The Petite box comes with 5-7 sample sized pampering products from Indie, new, or recognized brands; as well as special offers from merchants and "Your At Home Spa Recipe" or tips & tricks, wrapped in lush packaging.

The Luxe box comes with 2 full size bath/spa products, and/or pampering accessories, 1 skin care item, & at least 2 sample sized pamper products from Indie, new, or recognized brands; special offers from merchants and "Your At Home Spa Recipe" or tips & tricks, wrapped in lush packaging.

This is a photo of the Petite box, it's quite thin and everything came wrapped in some pretty black tissue paper.

These are Fekkai Shea Butter Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner. They are suppossed to smooth defrizz and detangle.  I haven't used these yet, but I'm sure they will be awesome.

This is Pura Gioia,Elena's Blush, Foaming Bath Butter Scrub.  It's an organic turbinado brown sugar & Mexican cane sugar body joy.  It smells so good. I expected it to just smell sweet but there are other things going on there to make a complex and enjoyable aroma.  If someone wanted to send me a full size of this I would be thrilled.

This is Smash Cosmetics in Erratic.  It's a very pretty dusky purple loose mineral eyeshadow.  It's quite shimmery and I like it very much.

This is an Yves Rocher Pure System Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. It has organic aloe vera pulp and salicylic acid.  Looking forward to using this because it's soap free so it doesn't dry the skin and it's paraben free.

This is Snail Nutrition BB Cream by Skin79.  It's made in Korea and apparently all the best beauty creams are but I'm wary of trying this because it looks like it's made with snail secretions!  On the packaging it says it's supposed to whiten the skin, improve wrinkles and that it has an spf of 45.  It says it keeps the skin moist and healthy by forming a protective layer if used as the last step in your skin care routine.

The next thing is a shimmering whipped body creme in the scent Ocean.  There's not a brand name on the package which is sad because is smells so nice and leaves glitter on your skin.  This is another product I wouldn't mind having a full size of.

UPDATE:  It's made by the Handmaden Soap.Co.-http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheHandmadenSoapCo or http://www.handmadensoaps.com/

The last thing in my box is a recipe for an at home peppermint facial. And I said in my Youtube video of the unboxing that I would share the recipe so here goes:
1T Milk
1 drop peppermint oil
3 tsp.distilled water
2-3 T Kaolin Clay (may substitute cornstarch but will lose the benefits of the clay)

Mix to form a smooth paste.  Apply to face, avoiding eyes. Once the masque hardens gently peel and rub off.  Wash face with warm water and pat dry.

Use the masque right after preparation and discard any that is unused. Do not use if allergic to any of the ingredients.

All in all this is a very nice box and I enjoyed it.  If you want to get your own Pampered Pink Box go to http://thepamperedpinkbox.com/ and sign up.  If you would like to watch the unboxing video of this box go to  http://youtu.be/vbYXBMx6y7I.  Thank you once again Tracy!

Bride Box + Giveaway!

More from my growing addiction I bring you the Bride Box.

This is the premier month for Bride Box and they send you cute, handmade items to make your wedding just a smidge better.  A Bride Box subscription will run you $35 a month but I got 50% off because I asked them if I could blog them and they said yes! Thank you Bride Box ladies.

This post is picture heavy to show more detail than my unboxing video here. So without further ado I give you the items of May's Bride Box.

First off we have the info card and a handy wedding countdown planner.  I really like the info card because it was cute and big and made out of parchment, not like most info cards, so classy.  And with the wedding countdown I recommend laminating it so if you need to change something you can just erase the old info and it will still look neat and pretty.

Next we have a custom made Whimsical Burlap Banner.  Mine says KISS but you can get yours to say what you want.  You can get one at Bride Box.

Next was a little extra thing.  It is a cream cleanser from Guinot.

The next thing I received is Rhinestone shoe stickers that say I Do.  This is such a cute idea, especially if you are having trouble thinking of what to do for your Something Blue.  Just put these on the bottom of your shoes.  You can also get these at Bride Box and if you use code: METOOMAY at checkout you will receive 20% off a second pair or the Me Too sticker set for your groom.

This is my favorite item out of the box and it is a Noell Desiree delicately designed, sterling silver wire necklace that features a Swarovski crystal. Custom necklaces are available and you can get them here or at Noell Desiree's site here.

And the last thing is something super cute.  It's lip and mustache shaped chocolates from Teresa Marie Designs.  Use them to take fun and silly pictures at your wedding then gobble them up.  Weddings are stressful, you will need a treat.

The last thing that came in the box I don't have a picture of, because it's an app for your wedding. It's called Wedding Party App and it is a simple and fun way to capture and share your wedding with your guests.  You can get it for your iphone or android and it's free.

Remember that I Do sticker set from a little bit ago?  Well if you want one for yourself and don't want to buy one (they are only $8) then go watch my unboxing video here and subscribe and leave a comment. I will pick a random person to win one!

I just looked up the cost of the box and home made artsy things are ex-pen-sive!  The necklace is $45 the banner is $35, the stickers are $8 and the chocolates are $7,bringing the total of the items to $95.  I bought this half off the regular price but even at $35 a month that is a wicked good deal.  If you use the code: JUNEBRIDE you can receive $5 off a monthly subscription, $10 off a 6 month or $20 off a yearly subscription. You can use the code here:  www.thebridebox.net/June-bride.

I don't know if I'll keep up with my Bride Box Subscription but for right now, I am loving it!
